COLSA Corporation AvMC EITSS Scrum Master – Software Development Management Analyst (Senior) in Huntsville, Alabama

COLSA is seeking to hire a Scrum Master professional to support our Enterprise IT Support Services Software Application Development team at the Army Aviation and Missile Center (AvMC) at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville Alabama. The software development activities are in support of existing AvMC G6 legacy web business applications as well as migrating applications or initiate new applications to on-premise cloud infrastructure. Successful candidates will be knowledgeable of software development on a collaborative Agile Scrum development team and will have strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential functions)

  • Provide Scrum Master expertise for existing full stack and new cloud applications and collaborative service capabilities for AvMC G6. These services include support for developing and implementing enterprise and Directorate-level applications but are not limited to complete life cycle support including planning, analysis, research and development, design, development, integration and testing, implementation, operations and maintenance, information assurance, and final disposition.

  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies such as daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning, sprint review, and sprint retrospective.

  • Facilitate work sessions with customers in gathering requirements, modeling use cases, writing user stories and documenting business processes.

  • Identify and troubleshoot obstacles that are hindering the team’s progress and assist with integrating solutions into the agile cycle. Promote continuous improvement through retrospectives and feedback sessions.

  • Communicate project status, risks and issues to stakeholders.

  • Coach members of the software development and quality assurance team in self-organization and cross-functionality.

  • May be responsible for managing team members.

  • Responsible for preparing team specific reports as required by government or customer.

  • Responsible for task/project growth and progress.

  • May assist in proposal preparation.

  • May be involved in more than one task/project at a time.

Required SkillsRequired Experience

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Project Management, or other related fields.

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.

  • Experience in Agile software development including coaching on agile methodologies.

  • Experience with Agile values, principles, processes, and methods such as iterative and incremental development, continuous integration, test-driven development (TDD), unit testing, code refactoring, pair programming, and Scrum ceremonies.

  • Experience working with customers in gathering requirements, modeling use cases, writing user stories and documenting business processes.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and be effective at communicating with both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Experience providing program, portfolio, and team level process, mentoring and coaching to senior leadership, portfolio managers and teams.

  • U.S. Citizenship required; must be able to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active DoD Secret clearance.

  • Active Security+CE certification.

  • Certification in Agile methodologies, like Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM).

  • Familiar with Azure DevOps (ADO).

  • Familiar with Human Center Design initiatives associated with requirements gathering and user interface and user experience designing.

  • Experience with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) for applications and databases.
