COLSA Corporation Linux Systems Administrator in Huntsville, Alabama

General SummaryResponsible for performing system analysis for company.Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential functions)

  • Responsible for performing analysis on system problems *

  • Responsible for working with system users to define problem areas, data availability, report requirements, etc. *

  • Responsible for defining system objectives and for preparing system design specifications to meet user requirements *

  • Responsible for analyzing various ways to derive input data in order to select the most appropriate process *

  • Responsible for implementing system design specifications *

  • May define input and output file specifications including file organization *

  • May be responsible for defining controls, conversion procedures and system implementation plans

  • May occasionally provide work leadership to lower level employees

Required SkillsRequired Experience

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Management of Information Systems or related field.

  • Minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience to include managing Linux Operating System and experience with Shell scripting (Linux and Bash)

  • Working knowledge of LDAP, SSL and PKI certificate usage

  • Working knowledge of desktop applications (including word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and database programs), drawing/design programs (Visio) and other applicable systems and applications

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations as needed.

  • Active Security + CE Certification

  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Interim DoD Secret Clearance (with full clearance to follow) prior to start date. U.S. Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance or Interim Secret Clearance

  • Work related experiences with Satellite configuration and management

  • Working knowledge of YUM, RPM and Rehat configuration/ management

  • Working knowledge of Ansible

  • Work related experience with VMware, and Windows environment

  • Current Certification in Linux+ or Redhat
